Shochu is a Japanese distilled spirit; unadorned, local, built on craft rather than ceremony. This stool borrows the name and the attitude.

Shochu is a side table and stool in solid oak: dyed, not painted. The grain stays, the colour goes deep. The structure is a T-section base with an inset semicircle: two planes, one gesture, no excess.

Hidden magnets in the wood allow two units to connect side by side; no visible hardware, no instructions needed. A small solid wood plug conceals each magnet, flush with the surface. Together or apart, the object reads the same.

40 × 20 cm, H 45 cm. Solid dyed oak throughout.

An NVDRS self-production.
